Skill Hut (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the Skill Hut Student Management, Faculty Profile, Website Development, Attendance Management  and Feedback platform. This Privacy Policy informs you of our policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of personal data when you use our Service and the choices you have associated with that data.

This is worthy mentioning that Skill Hut has been providing such web solutions in education segment since 2004.

1. Data Collection and Usage

In compliance with Google Play’s User Data Policy, we collect several types of information for various purposes to provide and improve our service to educational institutions through respective dedicated portal for each educational institutes, but NOT through this App.

When we use the dedicated web portals for the concerned Universities and Colleges, We Collect:

• Personal Identification Information: Name, email address, phone number, and student/faculty ID. This is used for Account Management but not for App Functionality.
• Financial Information: Payment records and transaction IDs for fee collections. We do not store full credit card/ debit card numbers, Bank Account Details, UPI Details; transactions are processed via secure, encrypted third-party payment gateways like BillDesk, HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, AXIS Bank. The Gateway/ Payment Aggregator directly deposit the amount in the respective institute accounts. Any third Party Integration duly approved Consent and KYC of the respective authorities of the concerned institutes.
• Academic Data: Admission details, semester records, and attendance sheets required for institutional archiving.
• Feedback Data: Responses to faculty, institute, infrastructure and peer evaluations. These are collected for institutional analytics and are restricted based on user roles.
• Transparency: The concerned educational institute can view/ download the live data at their ends both for personal and financial transactions.

2. Data Safety and Security

We prioritize the security of student and institutional data:

• Encryption in Transit: All data transmitted between the Web Applications and our servers is encrypted using HTTPS/TLS protocols. Additionally, the respective payment gateways maintain their own security mechanism as per guidelines of Reserve Bank of India (RBI).
• Access Control: We implement role-based security. Students cannot view other students’ data, and feedback is only accessible by the Super User (e.g., College Principal/ University Registrars/ Controllers).
• ISO 9001:2015 Standards: Our data handling processes follow certified quality management systems to ensure data integrity.

3. Data Sharing and Disclosure

• No Third-Party Sales: Skill Hut never sells user data to third-party marketing or advertising agencies.
• Service Providers: Data is only shared with service providers (like payment gateways) strictly for the purpose of executing app functions.
• Legal Requirements: We may disclose data if required by Indian law or in response to valid requests by public authorities (e.g., a court or government agency).

4. Data Retention and Deletion (Google Play Compliance)

• Retention: We retain personal data only for as long as necessary to fulfill institutional requirements (e.g., the duration of a student’s tenure plus statutory archiving periods).
• User Rights: Users have the right to view their identity data.
• Account Deletion: In accordance with Google Play requirements, users can request the deletion of their account and associated data. Requests can be initiated either by contacting the Higher Educational Institutes or by emailing info@skillhut.com. Note: Educational records required by law for institutional archiving may be retained as per college/ University policy.

5. Children’s Privacy

Our platform is intended for use by students in higher education (Colleges/Universities). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13. If you are a parent or guardian and are aware that your child has provided us with personal data, please contact us or the concerned Higher Educational Institute .
